Monumental by any measure
Russia is impossible to summarize. How does one sum up the world's largest country with a history spanning a thousand years? Its geography encompasses almost every imaginable landscape, its architecture runs from iconic fairytale palaces to crude Soviet concrete monoliths, and its politics have ranged from tsars to revolution. The culture that gave the world countless writers, musicians, artists, and thinkers is today a work-in-progress, still figuring out its place in a post-Communist world. Travellers will have their work cut out for them here, but the effort yields intense experiences and an adventure of a lifetime.
